The Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble is the oldest continuously performing chamber ensemble in Philadelphia and the only chamber group in residence in Society Hill. The Ensemble, under the direction of Margarita Montanaro and John Koen, is comprised of some of Philadelphia's finest musicians, all current or retired members of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Most are also faculty members at The Curtis Institute of Music and/or The Esther Boyer School of Music of Temple University.
The October and December concerts will be held at Old Pine Street Church, 412 Pine Street. Parking is permitted on the north side of Pine Street Between 3rd and 6th Streets with a window card obtainable from the church at concert time. The church is handicap-accessible.
The May concerts will be held at the American Philosophical Society, 104 S 5th Street (just below Chestnut Street). It is also handicap-accessible.
