The Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble is the oldest continuously performing chamber ensemble in the Delaware Valley and the only chamber group in residence in Society Hill. The Ensemble, under the direction of Margarita Montanaro, is comprised of some of Philadelphia's finest musicians, all current or retired members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Most are also faculty members at The Curtis Institute of Music and/or The Esther Boyer School of Music of Temple University. The program for this pair of concerts is Serenade for flute, violin, viola and cello by Paul Ben-Haim; Serenata for violin, cello, clarinet, bassoon and trumpet by Alfredo Casella; and Divertimento no. 11 in D major, K. 251 for oboe, two horns, two violins, viola, cello and bass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Old Pine Street Church is handicap-accessible. Parking is permitted on the south side of Pine Street between 3rd and 6th Streets with a window card obtainable from the church at concert time. Seating is unreserved.
